September 2024 Release Guide

Author

Combine

Whether you have a current state process and you want to understand how it differs from a best practice process definition. Or you have similar but different business processes from parts of your organization that need merging to standardize then Combine is the place to start. Combine has been enhanced to:

  • Show a process diagram preview of the association between the steps in each process map
  • Allow you to change the association between steps
  • Associate multiple maps in your process models
  • Allow you to create a new process model or add as current/future state transformations

More information is available on Combining Process Models.

Other Enhancements and Corrections to Author

In Author we've also added the option on the right click menu to move components up and down in the table of contents. If you are using Codes to create a standardized numeric reference to a component then hiding them will now remove the display from the table of contents.

Some complex actions on process models can lead to links becoming mis-aligned. This has been corrected.

Comparison of model revisions and the option to translate your content into multiple languages was not always displaying. This has been corrected.

Changing from Current to Change to Future state views of a process model is not changing a setting for model output, therefore this setting no longer sets the modified state of the process model.

When an author requests a new master data item be added they were subscribed to comment notifications on that master data model. This has been corrected.

Import

Microsoft Word

We've added a new importer to BusinessOptix, you can now import Microsoft Word to a Document. This is really useful when you have Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) in Word format and you want to link them into BusinessOptix. The Microsoft Word file imported will be converted to a Document model and any images will be added to the model.

Microsoft Visio

In order to support Microsoft Visio files that do not have a master shape defined we've had to make a change. This change has required changes to the user interface that associates the Visio shapes with the BusinessOptix component type.

Other changes to Import

Importing a Bizagi business process created an invalid latest revision. This has been corrected.

When importing an Excel file to a process model and setting a future state transformation the activity type was being set with invalid values. This has been corrected.

Workflow

A number of corrections have been made to workflow

  • To improve performance in libraries with 10,000+ models we've change the way we get model details.
  • Workflow review and approve actions where not available in an Authenticating library.
  • When workflow is operating on a model and the model is deleted the workflow kept running until manually stopped by BusinessOptix. This has been corrected.
  • When workflow is publishing the model to both the Shared and Stakeholder folders of a second library it failed. This has been corrected.
  • When workflow is merging multiple models into a single model any content in the internal model attachments folder were not being merged. This has been corrected.

Server

When a model is changed on the server there is a notification sent out to all active browsers that the model has been updated. In order to scale to libraries with 1,000+ concurrent logged-in users we've changed the notification mechanics. This has no functional change.

When logging-in via single sign-on (SSO) the logon event was not recorded to show in Manage. This has been corrected.

The option to move models between folders in Stakeholder has been removed. If the model needs to be moved to a different folder structure it should be moved in Shared.

When copying models from Stakeholder to Shared any files/images in model_attachments were not being copied. This has been corrected.

Library Administrators in Authenticated libraries did not have access to the Recycle Bin. This has been corrected.

Email notifications in authenticated libraries could be sent to an invalid email address. This has been corrected.

The search term recorded on search history retained it's URL encoding. This has been corrected.

When a form assignment was changed from somebody to nobody the task was not removed from somebody. This has been corrected.

Models

In a process model an author was able to enter performance metrics on embedded sub-process. This has been corrected.

The time taken to generate very complex (100+ steps) Work Instructions was excessive. This has been corrected.

In some circumstances forms were not displaying correctly. This has been corrected.
