In the November 2024 release of the BusinessOptix platform, we’ve introduced significant improvements to the automatic layout of business process maps and resolved several issues across the application.
Process Map Layout
The automatic layout feature in BusinessOptix Author has been enhanced, making it easier than ever to create clear and readable process maps. As businesses grow, adopt new technologies, or respond to market shifts, processes inevitably change. This dynamic nature can make it challenging to keep process maps up to date and easy to interpret.
Whether you’re refactoring a process map, undergoing an enterprise-wide transformation, importing maps from other tools, or leveraging BusinessOptix’s Process Mining solution, you may find it helpful to start with a simpler layout. In BusinessOptix Author, the auto layout feature is available in the Actions menu—just click the “Layout Diagram” button. And remember, the “Sub-process” button, located right next to it, allows you to move selected steps into a sub-process for better organization.
Author Enhancements
For libraries that maintain master data, such as Roles or Systems, outside of BusinessOptix, you can now disable the option in Author that prompts users to request new master data. This configuration change can be easily requested through our Customer Success team.
Several issues have been addressed:
- Master data information now displays correctly when viewed in Author.
- Copying a historic revision to a new model now functions as expected.
- Links between steps in a process model are now correctly re-routed after swim lanes are added and then deleted.
Server Improvements
- Word Import: We’ve enhanced the Microsoft Word to BusinessOptix Document importer, with improved handling of images and hyperlinks.
- My Settings: Users in single sign-on libraries set up before single sign-on was enabled can now access the “My Settings” page.
- Manage: The issue where an overly large library logo disrupted the layout of the Manage section has been resolved.
- Folder Management: Models with very long folder paths and names that were published to the Stakeholder folder and then moved to the Shared folder now move the Stakeholder version correctly.
