UK Platform - Disruption — 10 August 2026
Back-end deployment issue
Summary
On Monday 10 August 2026, BusinessOptix UK (uk.businessoptix.com) was unreachable for approximately 6 minutes at around 13:00 BST (12:00 UTC). The disruption was caused by issues in a back-end deployment while we were applying a hotfix carrying important security improvements for our applications.
Impact
- Scope: BusinessOptix UK (uk.businessoptix.com). Other regional platforms were not affected.
- Symptom: Users were unable to reach the platform for the duration of the window.
- Timeline: Approximately 6 minutes from around 13:00 BST (12:00 UTC) on Monday 10 August 2026.
- Cause: An unexpected consequence of recent changes to our back-end release pipeline.
Why we were making changes
The hotfix was a routine update, part of keeping our applications aligned with current security standards and conventions.
The pipeline changes are part of improving our CI/CD capabilities — work intended to prevent exactly this kind of disruption, so that we can maintain and improve our infrastructure and applications with little to no impact on customers.
Resolution
The pipeline changes have since been remediated and re-validated, and the platform returned to normal service. No user action was required and all data remained intact.
BusinessOptix apologises for any inconvenience for customers, and as always we continue our efforts to improve our platform and processes to maintain our very high availability and resilience record.
